Insurance Payments and Referrals

PAA is committed to providing quality care to all our patients; however, Managed Care Companies often limit what we can and can't do. Each insurance carrier has different coverage depending on the contract with that particular employer. Be familiar with your insurance coverage!!

Many of the managed care plans require referrals for specialists; therefore, we will need to have the referral before any services are rendered. In addition, you may need to obtain pre-certification from your insurance carrier before certain procedures and/or equipment may be ordered. Co-payments are collected at the time of the appointment. Cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted for payment of services. In addition our staff will make every effort to collect balance forwards at the time of your follow up appointments. Any specific insurance coverage questions should be directed to your member services representative.

Some questions you may ask yourself when choosing an insurance plan:

  • Are my doctors in the plan?
  • Will I need referrals to go a specialist?
  • If I go to an out-of-network doctor how much will they cover?
  • What procedures need pre-certification?
